THE HISTORY OF ROCK (2015)

The History of Rock is a 9 piece series of digital illustrations, telling an exaggerated, fictional evolution of the modern rock band. The story follows 4 band members as they venture through different historical time periods, taking part in various scenarios that help develop their "art". Each piece depicts a different time period, ranging from the stone age to the present day.
Many of the initial concepts came from my client, such as the cavemen beating rocks in the stone age for percussion, an out-of-place modern guitar being referred to as a "mighty axe" in the middle ages, and a plot twist that would show that everything comes full circle. Aside from illustrating the work, my task also involved developing the ideas further to make a cohesive story and thinking about how the works could be tied together as a unified piece.
The works would eventually be professionally printed and mounted.
